“Grandpa Pas and Grandma Utis” at Torosgiugh village

”Sarapat LAG” NGO president, Torosgyugh youth center member Julieta Petrosyan organized a unique and colorful Easter celebration in Torosgyugh village.

Emphasizing the importance of preserving national values and traditions, and the necessity of passing those to new generations, youth decided to have a unique Easter celebration. Dressed in colorful costumes and accompanied by the symbols of the Great Lent – Aklatiz doll, Grandpa Pas and Grandma Utis, children toured the entire village singing traditional songs, visiting houses, and congratulating the village residents. Villagers, in turn, were congratulating the children and putting traditional Eater treats in their basket.

Torosgyugh residents welcomed and recognized the importance of this initiative, as well as the unique style of congratulating and preserving the traditions. They mentioned how impatiently they have been waiting for Pas Grandpa and Utis Grandma to knock on their doors, with a belief that the traditional dolls will bring rich harvest and good luck to their families.

Children concluded this joyful day at the youth center, singing around the Holiday table and playing traditional games.

”Women for Development” NGO is expressing gratitude to Julieta Petrosyan and Torosgyugh youth active group members for this wonderful initiative and including the entire community in the celebrations!
