Due to computer courses I have a job now!

At WFD we were thrilled to receive an email from Lilit Hakobyan, one of the volunteers and the computer tutor at Torosagyugh community centre. We thought to share our happiness and her email with you:

“A year ago, I would have not imagined all the changes that happened in my life. I am a teacher-psychologist by occupation, but now I am working as computer lab operator at Torosagyugh secondary school. This is thanks to WFD, which gave me the opportunity to attend computer courses.

It all started in January 2013. After attending the training courses on computers for three months, I improved my skills, gained further knowledge and developed my capacity in this field. After the courses, I voluntarily started to teach our community members the basics of using a computer. There were more and more people signing for the courses, and I had to accommodate two groups per days. The rumors and news about the courses were spreading throughout the village. Everyone was very satisfied by the trainings, and appreciated my commitment to teach others. As a result, I gained more confidence and realized that I am able to teach and be helpful for my community.

My dedication and willingness was not left unnoticed and the principle of Torosagyugh school offered me to work at school as computer lab operator. I was very happy and of course accepted the offer.

Now I have an interesting job. For the later, I am once again thankful to my dear colleagues at WFD. I would have not had my job, if I did not participate in the trainings initiated by WFD.

I thank you for courses, the results, the warm environment and heartfelt treatment.

Sincerely,

LIlit
