On October 13-15, 2011, WFD hosted mobilizers and activists from “Women’s Assistance” Centers, based in different regions of Georgia by “Sukhumi” Foundation. The goal of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of WFD and to exchange experience. The guests were hosted at WFD office, got acquainted with the activities of the NGO and current projects. Representatives of “Women’s assistance” Centerspresented the projects implemented by
them, spoke about problems and obstacles in their work. Guests also visited community centres in the beneficiary villages of Goghovit, Torosgyugh and Tsoghamarg. Here they got acquainted with the activities of centres, spoke to the officers and volunteers of the centres, discussed the approaches which they use in the sphere of community mobilisation, current problems and difficulties. Georgian colleagues gladly accepted the gender approach to the healthcare and healthy lifestyle meetings used by WFD and decided to use it in their work as well.
