Within the framework of “Capacity building in agriculture in the rural communities of Shirak marz for green future” project a public awareness meeting was held in Torosgyugh community. Project director Hrachya Hovhannisyan presented those present the project objectives, actions and the results to be achieved. Establishment of the hothouses with the use of new technologies is an innovation for the villagers, so the project expert Gevorg Petrosyan talked in detail about the effectiveness of the hothouses and the implementation of other projects and making of investments in future based on those hothouses. Especially in Ashotsk subregion where hail, frosts and climatic conditions are more unfavorable for the villagers, the development of similar hothouses and the usage of new agro technologies are rather profitable. As a successful example G. Petrosyan presented the project implemented in Basen community and how the solar heaters and the hothouse changed life in Basen.
There was great interest and enthusiasm towards the project among the community members who addressed various project related questions to the expert and received professional exhaustive answers.
The next meeting planned by the project is to be convened next week, during which it is envisaged to form an initiative group of farmers with the use of agricultural new technologies together with the community’s interested members, start the fencing of the territory located for the hothouse and the basement digging activities.
