ToT trainings in the frames of the project “Peace and Conflict Resolution Education in Schools” took place form the 25th September – 4th of October in four regions of Armenia- Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat and Yerevan. In total 80 teachers and vice-principles from 20 schools as well as the heads of regional branches of National Institute of Education from the mentioned regions participated in the trainings.
Each participant received the “Conflict Resolution Education in Schools” practical guidebook for teachers attached with its posters developed and published by WFD.
Teachers got familiar with the guidebook topics, gained skills and knowledge in the field of conflict management and learned about the possible ways and techniques of peaceful conflict resolution. Based on specific examples, methods were discussed on how to make the class head teacher’s hours on peace topics more interesting and effective. Participants also learned how to make peace symbols- the paper cranes.
Almost all the participants of the trainings highly appreciated WFD’s work and experience in the field of peace education, they marked the importance of spreading peace culture in schools of Armenia. During October-November another 195 teachers from 65 schools of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat and Yerevan will be trained by the specialists and heads of regional branches of National Institute of Education in order to organise “peaceful conflict resolution” classes.
